The First Date Book Tag!

Hey guys! I'm super sorry for not posting for the longest time, I've just been SUPER busy. I'm still pretty busy so I decided to do a tag because they're quick and fun. Also, if you don't agree with any of my opinions, no need to hate me. We all like different things.

1. THE AWKWARD FIRST DATE: Something felt off. It wasn't a bad book, but just lacked that spark for you.

I can't deny that I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I'm not 100% sure what it is I didn't like, but I think it was just a little too short. I ended up giving it four stars on Goodreads, though, so it definitely wasn't that bad.

2. THE CHEAP FIRST DATE: A book that turned out less than expected.

I know you guys are probably getting tired of me not liking this book, but seriously. I hated it so much. I went into it with really high expectations (I mean, obviously. It's Throne of Glass, one of the most hyped books in the book community, how do I not have high expectations) and was completely let down.

3. WELL-PREPARED FIRST DATE: A book that turned out better than expected.

So, before I started this all the hype was saying that this book was extremely slow, which it still does today. As many of you know, I do NOT like slow-paced books, but one day I just decided to give in to the hype and read it, and let me tell you. I AM SO HAPPY I GAVE IN TO THE HYPE.

4. HOT BUT DUMB: A pretty book, but not so much on the inside.

Beautiful cover & writing, but just so boring.

5. BLIND DATE: A book you picked up without knowing anything about it.

And for this, I don't have anything. As much as I love a gorgeous cover, I'm going to read what the book is about first.

6. SPEED DATING: A book you read super fast.

I've read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda twice now and not only did I adore it both times, I also read it really quickly. If you haven't read this yet, I'd be surprised, so please do!

7. THE REBOUND: A book that you read too soon after a book hangover and it kinda ruined it for you.

This is another one I don't have an answer for! I guess something like this has never happened to me before.

8. OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC DATE: A book that felt like it was trying too hard.

Again, I don't have anything for this one!

9. THE PERFECT DATE: A book that did everything right for you.

I don't think I've ever mentioned Hyperbole and a Half on my blog before, and now is the perfect time. The hype for this has kinda died down, so if you haven't read it yet I suggest you do! I loved this graphic novel/comic/I'm-not-even-sure-how-to-classify-this-book-thing.

10. HUMILIATING FIRST DATE: A book that you're embarrassed to admit you liked.

I don't have an answer!

Again, sorry for not posting for such a long time, but hopefully I'll be back on schedule soon! I hope you enjoyed this tag. Let me know, if you've read any of the books I mentioned, what you thought of them! Bye guys!

Do You Have to Have Tons of Books to Be a REAL Bookworm?! | Discussion

Hey guys! I know it's been the longest time since I've done a discussion post, and I've seen things about this phrase all around the book community lately, so I thought I'd just put my own two cents out there.

DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE TONS OF BOOKS TO BE A REAL BOOKWORM?

And, obviously, the simple answer is: no.

You do not need to have shelves overflowing with books to "prove" you're an actual bookworm.

For example, as much as I love buying books, I'm going to college next year and am pretty short on money at the time (I only own 23 books). I use the library for the most part, and I'm sure lots of you do too.

So yeah, I love buying books and getting to keep them forever, but that can get really expensive really quickly.

Obviously, that being said if you want to buy five books a week, that is completely fine.

This also relates to the topic of giveaways. Many people do giveaways for reaching some kind of milestone, and they give away books (in the book community). These are great for those who can afford books to give away and the shipping costs, but because so many people are doing giveaways at this point it's almost become expected that people do them and I just think that that should not be a thing because lots of people can't afford them.

I wish there were ways to go more into this discussion but really it's more just rambling on about the same thing, though I do still think this is an important thing to talk about.

Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments. Thanks for reading! Bye!

Books I NEED to Get to This Summer!

Hey guys! I know there's still about a month until summer, but I CANNOT WAIT ANYMORE. So today, I'll be giving you the four (I'm the biggest mood-reader ever okay) books that I need to get to this summer.

1. THE REST OF THE TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE SERIES BY JENNY HAN

Image result for to all the boys i've loved before

About two years ago or so I read the first book, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and I really enjoyed it! But I never continued with the series. By now, I've forgotten almost everything that happens, so I really want to reread this, especially because at least for me I prefer to read happy, feel-good books during the summer and this is just that. Then I will for sure read book two, P.S. I Still Love You, and then I think the concluding book that JUST came out, Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

2. THIS SAVAGE SONG BY VICTORIA SCHWAB

If you don't know, I am completely and utterly obsessed with the Shades of Magic trilogy by Victoria/V.E. Schwab. And this book sounds super awesome and original! I know this post will be full of rambling, so here's the Goodreads link for it. Plus, the sequel (and concluding book, it's a duology) comes out in mid-June.

3. WE ARE THE ANTS BY SHAUN DAVID HUTCHINSON

I AM SO ASHAMED I STILL HAVE YET TO READ THIS BOOK. I NEED TO READ IT NOW. Guys this is just so hyped up and it sounds so good (if you somehow haven't heard of it - here's the Goodreads link).

4. GEORGIA PEACHES AND OTHER FORBIDDEN FRUIT BY JAYE ROBIN BROWN

This book just sounds like the PERFECT summer read. I can just tell from the cover and the synopsis (again - Goodreads link) and the reviews that it is going to be super happy, feel-good, and just all around adorable.

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know in the comments some books you plan on getting to this summer! Thanks for reading! Bye!

The ANYTHING BUT BOOKS Tag!

Hey guys! I've seen this tag floating around the book community for a little while now, and I thought it looked fun. Here's the original tag! I hope you enjoy!

QUESTION 1: WHAT IS A CARTOON YOU LOVE?

Well, I don't watch cartoons, and I can't remember any that I really loved from when I was younger, so I'm going to have to skip this one.

QUESTION 2: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG AT THE MOMENT?

I just saw Wicked the other day (and it was SO AMAZING!) so I could basically go with any song from that, but if I had to choose, it would be Defying Gravity. Like I am so obsessed that song. Holy crap.

QUESTION 3: WHAT COULD YOU DO FOR HOURS (THAT ISN'T READING)?

This is a bit of a boring answer, but BINGE WATCH NETFLIX. I could watch Netflix for hours on end and almost DEFINITELY I wouldn't get sick of it. I just love it so much.

QUESTION 4: WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOUR FOLLOWERS WOULD BE SURPRISED BY?

Hmm. This one is kinda hard to answer, because there's honestly not much interesting facts about me. I can touch my nose with my tongue? Does that count? Am I just not putting enough effort into this???

QUESTION 5: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE UNNECESSARILY SPECIFIC THING TO LEARN ABOUT?

Again, this is really hard for me to answer, because I'm one of those people that just looks up everything. But one that is just super interesting for me is conspiracy theories. I know almost all of them aren't true, but they're still just so fun too read about (and also scary sometimes)!

QUESTION 6: WHAT IS SOMETHING UNUSUAL THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO DO?

Ugh I am so bad at this tag. I don't know how to do anything unusual. :p

7. NAME SOMETHING YOU MADE IN THE LAST YEAR.

Well, I'm not exactly a crafty person, but I did help make centerpieces for my brother's wedding (now I feel like Molly Peskin-Suso).

8. WHAT IS YOUR MOST RECENT PERSONAL PROJECT?

Definitely writing my own book! I haven't written very much of it but I try to write at least 2k words per day.

9. TELL US SOMETHING YOU THINK ABOUT OFTEN.

This is kind of a tie-in to my last answer, but eventually PUBLISHING my book! I know that it's going to be a pretty long time before that happens, but I still like to imagine it.

10. GIVE US SOMETHING THAT'S YOUR FAVORITE.

Organizing.

11. SAY THE FIRST THING THAT POPS INTO YOUR HEAD.

Bamboozled.

Thanks for reading! I tag all of you! Bye!
